TAILOR | east london loft
This compact one bed flat is within this great building, a converted 1900 clothing factory. There was plenty of original character, exceptionally high ceilings, windows that flooded the rooms with light, existing timber floorboards and more but what it really lacked was storage.
From the start this was a project about great planning. The challenge was its size, we needed to use every piece of space available and be really clever by creating space that wasn’t there before! We completely refurbished the space, being careful to retain the essence of a loft apartment and maintain a neutral skin to make the it feel bigger.
The bespoke mechanised clothes pulley was the ultimate winning element. The client just loves this unique piece and their bespoke mezzanine bed (imagine adult bunkbed) with walk in wardrobe below and space for the drum kit.
Their love of colour, particularly red was brought into the the dressing. Retro pieces, feature art, planting & pattern creating a true expression of their characters in the home.
